TOKYO, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Richard Gasquet each won in straight sets Wednesday, setting up a second-round match at the $1.2 million Japan Open.
Tsonga, seeded second, had 10 aces and dropped just one game on serve in beating Mischa Zverev 6-4, 6-3. Gasquet posted a very clean 6-3, 6-2 win over Philipp Petzschner. Gasquet didn't face a break point and had no double faults while winning 70 percent of the points on serve.
