COL FB: Virginia Tech 34, Duke 26

DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Tyrod Taylor's two touchdown passes Saturday helped sixth-ranked Virginia Tech down stubborn Duke 34-26 in an ACC tussle at Durham, N.C.

Taylor completed 17-of-22 passes for 327 yards, with his first-half scoring passes of 36 yards to Danny Coale and 28 yards to Jarrett Boykin leading Tech to a 17-10 lead at the break.

Josh Oglesby gained 59 yards on six carries with two second-half touchdown runs. Ryan Williams rushed for 83 yards on 24 carries for the Hokies (4-1, 2-0 ACC), who have won nine in a row over the Blue Devils.

Quarterback Thaddeus Lewis led Duke with 22-of-40 passing for 359 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Conner Vernon caught four passes for 128 yards. Both Brandon King and Austin Kelly caught touchdown passes for the Blue Devils (2-4, 0-1), who have lost their last two games.
