MLB: Colorado 9, Milwaukee 2

DENVER, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Aaron Cook and Franklin Morales combined on a six-hitter Thursday, leading Colorado to a 9-2 decision over Milwaukee and a three-game sweep.

The critical sweep helped the Rockies secure a postseason berth for the second time in three seasons, giving them a National League wild-card berth with three games left before the post-season.

"The key is getting in," starting pitcher Jason Marquis told the Denver Post.after he advanced to the playoffs a 10th straight season with three other teams. "Nobody remembers how. Once you get in there, anything can happen."

Garrett Atkins had three hits and three RBI.

Troy Tulowitzki had three hits and one RBI.

Brad Hawpe hit a two-run eighth-inning homer.

Cook (11-6) gave up four hits in eight innings -- one Ryan Braun's solo home in the top of the sixth and also drove in two on bases-loaded walks.

Dexter Fowler had one RBI, while Todd Helton had two hits, scoring three times for the Rockies, who have won four straight.

Mike Cameron's second hit, a ninth-inning double, produced a run, while Prince Fielder also had two hits for the Brewers, who have lost four in a row.

The losing pitcher was starter Manny Parra (11-11).
