Kolb leads NFC's top weekly players

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb is the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his third NFL season.

In last week's 34-14 win over Kansas City, Kolb became the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for 300 yards in each of his first two career starts.

Against the Chiefs, he completed 24-of-34 passes for 327 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The prior week, the former University of Houston product passed for 391 yards against New Orleans.

Others earning NFC Player of the Week honors were Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs (defense) and Minnesota kick returner Percy Harvin (special teams).

Briggs had seven tackles, two tackles for a loss, one sack and an interception in the Bears' 25-19 win at Seattle.

Harvin returned four kickoffs for 180 yards and scored on a 101-yard return, helping the Vikings beat San Francisco 27-24.
