ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Terence Newman scored on an interception return late in the fourth quarter Monday to lock up the Dallas Cowboys' 21-7 victory over Carolina.
The Cowboys scored 21 unanswered points in their first win at their new stadium. With Marion Barber out with a left quadriceps strain, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice took over at running back after a scoreless first half. Jones gained 94 yards on eight carries before leaving with a knee injury and Choice ran for 118 yards and a touchdown for the Cowboys (2-1).
Tony Romo had 255 yards on 22-of-33 passes for the Cowboys.
Jake Delhomme continued his struggles for the winless Panthers (0-3), with two interceptions, a touchdown and 220 yards on 22-of-33 completions.
DeAngelo Williams rushed for 64 yards on 11 carries.
