NEW YORK, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck suffered a partially torn labrum against Dallas Sunday.
The 6-foot-5, 274-pound Tuck has improved enough that he may play Sunday against Tampa Bay. But the New York Daily News reported an unnamed source said the left shoulder injury has an estimated recovery time of two weeks and Tuck is toying with the idea of playing with a harness.
Tuck played with a similar injury while at Notre Dame.
"I played with (a harness) in college and did pretty well," Tuck told the newspaper Wednesday.
"I'm going to look at the harness as a good-luck charm, hopefully. We're trying to handle this as smartly as possible."
Against the Cowboys, he was injured in the second quarter when tripped by tackle Flozell Adams.
In two games, Tuck has five tackles with 1 1/2 sacks.
