MLB: San Francisco 7, LA Dodgers 2

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Brad Penny held the Dodgers to two runs and five hits in seven innings Sunday, helping San Francisco to a 7-2 win over Los Angeles.

Penny (3-0), a former Dodger, was making his third start for the Giants since joining them in late August.

He had been waived by Boston.

Juan Uribe led San Francisco with three hits, one a two-run first-inning homer.

Freddy Sanchez had two hits -- one a two-run single in a four-run sixth.

Travis Ishikawa also had three of 15 hits with one RBI.

Andres Torres had one RBI, while Randy Winn, Freddy Sanchez and Pablo Sandoval each had two hits for the Giants, who won twice in the three-game series.

Russell Martin hit a two-run homer for Los Angeles.

Four others had one hit for the NL West-leading Dodgers, who have a 7 1/2 game over the Giants.

The losing pitcher was starter Chad Billingsley (12-10).
