SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Kory Sheets capped an 18-point fourth quarter Saturday with a 5-yard touchdown run, helping San Francisco edge Oakland 21-20 in an NFL pre-season contest.
The victory gave the 49ers a 2-0 exhibition record.
Glen Coffee rushed for 129 yards on 16 carries, helping the 49ers maintain ball control.
Michael Robinson scored once and had 97 yards on 14 carries, and rookie quarterback Nate Davis threw for one touchdown on 6-of-11 passing for 67 yards for the 49ers, whose defense limited Oakland to just 69 rushing yards.
Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell went 7-of-11 passes for 76 yards with one touchdown.
Brandon Myers scored once after four receptions for 75 yards, while Louis Murphy caught two passes for 34 yards for the Raiders, who were out-gained 389-245 and fell to 1-1.
