Steve Webster leads Silesia Open

CELADNA, Czech Republic, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Steve Webster's 3-under-par 69 Saturday gave him a one-stroke lead after 54 holes at the European Tour's Moravia Silesia Open in Celadna, Czech Republic.

The Englishman's 54-hole total, 11-under 205, left him alone ahead of countryman Graeme Storm (70) and Spain's Ignacio Garrido (69), who are 10-under 206 and tied for second at the first golf tournament in the Czech Republic since 1997.

Webster and Storm began the day tied for first, but Webster made birdies at the first and second holes, leaving the pressure on Storm.

"Missed one green, (hit a) lot of good shots, but didn't make enough putts," a somewhat disappointed Webster said. "I'm right in a great position, so it's good."

"I could have played myself out but fortunately I didn't," Storm said.

Garrido moved into contention with birdies from 12-14.

England's Sam Little (70) and Northern Ireland's Gareth Maybin (68) share fourth at 8-under 208.
