NEW YORK, July 31 (UPI) -- Several non-major transactions were made Friday before Major League Baseball's non-waiver trading deadline.

The top deal had Cleveland sending slugging catcher Victor Martinez to Boston for three young pitchers -- Justin Masterson, Nick Hagadone and Bryan Price.

Martinez is batting .284 with 15 homers and 67 RBI.

The Indians had a $7 million signing option on Martinez for next season.

Elsewhere, Detroit got southpaw Jarrod Washburn from Seattle for fellow lefties Luke French and Mauricio Robles; Oakland dealt shortstop Orlando Cabrera to the Minnesota Twins for minor league shortstop Tyler Ladendorf and cash; Boston sent first baseman Adam La Roche to Atlanta, his former team; Washington sent first baseman Nick Johnson to Florida and Toronto dealt third baseman Scott Rolen to Cincinnati after sending outfielder Jerry Hairston Jr. to the Yankees.
