MLB: Los Angeles Angels 6, Minnesota 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 25 (UPI) -- Robb Quinlan, Jeff Mathis and Mike Napoli produced all the Los Angeles runs with homers Friday in the Angels' 6-3 triumph over Minnesota.

Los Angeles won its seventh consecutive game and maintained a 3½-game lead over Texas in the American League West.

Quinlan put the Angels in front with a two-run homer in the second, Mathis contributed a solo shot in the fifth and Napoli's three-run blast in the sixth gave Los Angeles a 6-2 advantage.

Los Angeles defeated the Twins for the second straight night, having overcome a two-run deficit in the ninth to keep the winning streak alive Thursday.

John Lackey (6-4) allowed two runs on four hits in 7 2/3 innings for the win. He has been victorious in four of his last five starts and was coming off a three-hit shutout of Oakland Sunday.

All the Los Angeles runs came off Francisco Liriano (4-10), who lasted 5 1/3 innings.
