MLB: Seattle 5, Cleveland 3

CLEVELAND, July 19 (UPI) -- Jack Hanahan's pinch sacrifice fly Sunday helped Seattle down Cleveland 5-3 and win three times in the four-game series.

Hanahan, batting for Chris Woodward, broke a 3-3 tie with one out in the top of the eighth inning.

Russell Branyan hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Franklin Gutierrez added two RBI for the Mariners, who won their second straight four-game series.

They also won three of four at home against the Texas Rangers before the All-star break.

The winner was reliever Shawn Kelley (2-1). Closer David Aardsma recorded his 22nd save.

Seattle starter Erik Bedard surrendered three runs and four hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Ben Francisco led Cleveland with two hits and two RBI. One run scored on an error by Jose Lopez for the Indians, who have lost four of five.

The losing pitcher was reliever Rafael Betancourt (1-2).
