MLB: San Diego 3, Colorado 1

SAN DIEGO, July 19 (UPI) -- Chase Headley's pinch-hit solo home run put San Diego ahead in the seventh inning Saturday and the Padres went on to beat Colorado 3-1.

Eliezer Alfonzo drove in Kevin Kouzmanoff during the seventh to provide an insurance run. Kouzmanoff had two hits for the Padres, who have won just three of their last 15 games.

Padres' starter Kevin Correia went six innings, allowing one run on three hits with four walks and two strikeouts. Greg Burke (2-1) retired the side in the seventh to get the win and Heath Bell pitched the ninth to collect his 24th save.

Colorado's lone run came in on an RBI double by Brad Hawpe.

Rockies' starter Jason Hammel went 5 2/3 innings, letting in one run on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Joel Peralta (2-1), who served up the home run to Headley, took the loss for Colorado, which lost for the first time in its last four games.
