Sanchez wins Tour's latest stage

SAINT-GIRON, France, July 11 (UPI) -- Luis-Leon Sanchez won Stage 8 Saturday at the Tour de France cycling race ending in Saint-Girons, France, his second career Tour stage victory.

The 176.5-kilometer journey from La-Vielle in Andorra to Saint-Giron took 4:31:50.

Rinaldo Nocentini finished 28th Saturday, but maintained the yellow jersey, symbolizing the overall Tour leader, a second straight day.

Alberto Contador finished 35th to hold on to second place overall, six seconds behind Nocentini.

Contador's Astana teammates, Americans Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer, finished 38th and 31st, respectively, to remain in third and fourth overall.

Armstrong, the seven-time Tour winner, remained eight seconds behind Nocentini, while Levi Leipheimer is 39 seconds back.
