SAN DIEGO, July 5 (UPI) -- James Loney's solo homer in the top of the 13th Sunday gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 7-6 win over the San Diego Padres.

Loney had two of LA's 18 hits and scored twice. Juan Pierre played left field when Manny Ramirez was given the day off and had four hits and one RBI.

One of two hits by Casey Blake was a three-run third-inning homer. Starter Chad Billingsley -- who allowed three runs on three hits in eight innings but did not figure in the decision -- had two hits and one RBI.

Billingsley became the first Dodgers pitcher to hit a homer and a double in the same game since Hideo Nomo in 2003.

Rafael Furcal had three hits for the Dodgers, who have won nine of 13 games against the Padres this season.

The winner in a rare relief appearance was Jeff Weaver (5-2).

San Diego sent the contest into extra innings with a five-run ninth, capped by Everth Cabrera's two-run single. Kevin Kouzmanoff and Chase Headley hit solo homers for the Padres, who mustered only six hits all day.
