ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 28 (UPI) -- David Price and two relievers combined on a four-hitter Sunday to boost the Tampa Bay Rays to a 5-2 inter-league win over the Florida Marlins.
The victory completed a three-game sweep.
Price (2-2) gave up an earned run on two hits and five walks in seven innings. He notched four strikeouts.
Joe Nelson, Chad Bradford and closer J.P. Howell finished the victory, with Howell earning his fifth save when Florida threatened in the ninth.
One of two hits by B.J. Upton was a solo homer in the third inning.
Four others had one RBI, while Carl Crawford and Carlos Pena added two hits apiece for the Rays, who have a five-game winning streak.
Florida got one RBI apiece from Hanley Ramirez and Wes Helms. Dan Uggla and Jorge Cantu had the other hits for the Marlins, who have split their last six games.
Losing pitcher Andrew Miller (2-4) surrendered five earned runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.
