MLB: LA Dodgers 6, San Diego 4

LOS ANGELES, June 10 (UPI) -- Andre Ethier hit two solo home runs and Matt Kemp also drove in a pair of runs in the LA Dodgers' 6-4 victory over the visiting San Diego Padres.

Orlando Hudson chipped in with a solo home run in support of Chad Billingsley (8-3), who picked up the win despite a relatively shaky three runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Jonathan Broxton collected his 14th save of the season by nailing down the Dodgers' fifth win in their last seven games.

San Diego, which has lost eight of their last six, had three hits apiece from their lead-off and No. 2 hitters -- Tony Gwynn and David Eckstein -- but also left eight runners on base, including a bases-loaded stranding in the fifth.

Chris Young (5-4) gave up five runs on six hits through five innings in the loss.

Kevin Kouzmanoff gave the Padres a brief 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the first. Ethier then cut the lead in half with his first homer of the evening in the bottom of the first.

After Kemp drove in a run in the second, Ethier hit his second homer of the night, and 11th of the year, in the third inning to give Los Angeles the lead.

San Diego tied the score 3-3 in the fifth on Brian Giles's ground out but gave up solo homers to Kemp and Hudson in the bottom half to make it 5-3.

The Dodgers added another run in the eighth and gave up one to the Padres in the top of the ninth before Broxton struck out Giles looking to end the game.
