MLB: Oakland 7, Chicago White Sox 0

CHICAGO, June 4 (UPI) -- Brett Anderson hurled seven scoreless innings and the Oakland bullpen followed suit Thursday, sending the Athletics to a 7-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Anderson (3-5), a rookie left-hander, gave up six hits, did not walk a batter and struck out four in 109 pitches. Relievers Michael Wuertz and Santiago Casilla mopped up.

Anderson joined fellow rookies Vin Mazzaro and Josh Outman in the victory column against the White Sox.

Jason Giambi's lone hit was a three-run homer in the sixth inning. Aaron Cunningham hit a two-run homer in the ninth. Orlando Cabrera and Kurt Suzuki had one RBI apiece for the Athletics, who have won four of five overall.

Alexei Ramirez and Paul Konerko had two hits apiece for the White Sox, who have lost three in a row after a four-game winning streak.

Losing pitcher Mark Buehrle (6-2) surrendered four earned runs and five hits in eight innings.
