MLB: Chicago White Sox 4, LA Angels 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 27 (UPI) -- Jayson Nix belted two solo home runs Tuesday, sending the Chicago White Sox past the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 4-2.

Bartolo Colon (3-4) limited the Angels to one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings to earn the win. He struck out three.

The White Sox won for the sixth time in eight games while Los Angeles lost for the third time in four games, including Monday's 17-3 drubbing by the visiting Chicagoans.

Joe Saunders (6-3) went 6 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits. Saunders kept Chicago off the board until the fifth inning when Nix opened the scoring with his first homer.

The White Sox added a run in sixth on an RBI single by Paul Konerko.

Nix led off the seventh with his second homer of the night and fourth of the season but the Angels struck back on Bobby Abreu's first home run of the year in the seventh to make it 3-1.

Chicago cobbled together their fourth run in the ninth when Jermaine Dye singled pinch-runner Chris Getz home from second.

Torii Hunter made it 4-2 with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth and the Angels had the tying run on before Scott Linebrink got Mike Napoli to pop out and end the game.
