Tampa Bay placesshortstop on DL

CLEVELAND, May 26 (UPI) -- The Tampa Bay Rays placed shortstop Jason Bartlett on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a left ankle sprain.

The move was retroactive to Monday.

Bartlett is batting .373 with seven home runs and 30 RBI in his sixth season in the majors and his second with Tampa Bay..

To take his spot on the roster, the Rays called up infielder Joe Dillon from Class AAA Durham.
