WARSAW, Poland, May 20 (UPI) -- Maria Sharapova, in her first tournament in about nine months, was an easy second-round winner Wednesday at the $600,000 Warsaw Open in Poland.

Sharapova has seen her ranking go from No. 1 to 126 in the last year because a shoulder injury has kept her off the court since last August. She was granted wild-card entry into the Warsaw Open and has won twice, including Wednesday's 6-2, 6-0 victory over Darya Kustova.

Sharapova dominated the second set, allowing Kustova only four points in her three service games.

No. 6-seeded Daniela Hantuchova posted an easy 6-3, 6-1 win over Urszula Radwanska by breaking her serve five times. Eighth-seeded Alona Bondarenko cruised by Marta Domachowska and will meet Sharapova in the next round.
