MLB: Detroit 11, Oakland 7

DETROIT, May 17 (UPI) -- Detroit spotted Oakland a 5-0 first-inning lead Sunday then rallied to an 11-7 victory behind four hits and four RBI from Ramon Santiago.

Sunday's victory capped a three-game Detroit sweep.

Landon Powell's three-run double was the big hit in Oakland's five-run first, but Santiago later hit an RBI triple and a three-run homer.

Curtis Granderson's lone hit was a three-run, fifth-inning homer.

Josh Anderson hit a two-run, second-inning triple and Adam Everett added three hits and one RBI for the Tigers, who went 7-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

The winning pitcher was reliever Zach Miner (3-1).

Ryan Sweeney knocked in two runs, while Adam Kennedy had three hits and one RBI, and Orlando Cabrera added two hits and one RBI for the Athletics, who have lost five of seven.

Losing pitcher Trevor Cahill (2-3) surrendered seven earned runs and seven hits in 2 1/3 innings.
