Marlins reliever has season-ending surgery

MILWAUKEE, May 12 (UPI) -- Florida Marlins reliever Scott Proctor had season-ending elbow ligament replacement surgery Tuesday, the team announced.

Proctor, 32, signed with Florida in the off-season but never appeared in a game with the club due to a torn flexor tendon in his throwing elbow.

Proctor was 2-0 with a 6.05 earned run average in 41 games last season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The right-hander has a career record of 16-10 with a 4.42 ERA in 262 games with the Dodgers and the New York Yankees.
