MLB: Atlanta 6, Philadelphia 2

PHILADELPHIA, May 9 (UPI) -- Javier Vazquez surrendered two earned runs and just four hits Saturday while leading the Atlanta Braves to a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Vazquez (3-3) snapped a personal two-game losing streak by not walking a batter and striking out seven in 7 2/3 innings. He gave up solo homers by Chase Utley in the fourth and Raul Ibanez in the ninth.

Both Atlanta's Brian McCann and Yunel Escobar hit two-run homers. Kelly Johnson and Jeff Francoeur knocked in one run each, and McCann had three of the nine hits for the Braves, who have won three of four.

Utley had two of the five hits for the Phillies, went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.

Losing pitcher Joe Blanton (1-3) gave up six earned runs and eight hits in eight innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
