LOS ANGELES, May 6 (UPI) -- The LA Dodgers used strong pitching by Jeff Weaver and their bullpen Tuesday to forge a 3-1 win over Arizona, a record-setting 12th consecutive home victory.

The win tied a post-1900 major league record for home wins to start a season, and also was the sixth consecutive victory for the Dodgers. Detroit won its first 12 home games in 1911.

The Diamondbacks outhit the home team 7-5.

The Dodgers scored all of their runs in the first inning off Max Scherzer (0-3), who gave up four hits and struck out four over six innings. Orlando Hudson doubled with one out. Manny Ramirez, who went 0-for-3, was given an intentional walk. Andre Ethier then singled Hudson home and Ramirez came home on James Loney's ground out. Ethier scored to make it 3-0 when shortstop Josh Wilson committed his second error in as many days.
