MLB: Minnesota 7, Cleveland 1

CLEVELAND, April 25 (UPI) -- Kevin Slowey gave up one run in eight-plus innings Saturday to pitch the Minnesota Twins to a 7-1 win over the Cleveland Indians.

Slowey (3-0) allowed eight hits and struck out seven without a walk for the Twins, who have won five of their last seven games.

Jason Kubel hit two solo home runs and Joe Crede homered. Delmon Young was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Minnesota.

Victor Martinez had three of the Indians' nine hits. Travis Hafner and Shin-Soo Choo each had a pair of hits for Cleveland, which lost for the fourth time in six games.

Carl Pavano (0-3) was charged with the loss after allowing five runs on 11 hits in five-plus innings.
