MLB: Pittsburgh 7, Florida 4

PITTSBURGH, April 22 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche had three hits and one RBI Wednesday to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 7-4 win over the Florida Marlins, completing a three-game sweep.

Andy LaRoche had a hit and two RBI. Nyjer Morgan, Nate McLouth, and Jack Wilson had one RBI.

Adam LaRoche scored twice, while Morgan added two stolen bases for the Pirates, who swept a series from the Marlins for the first time since July 16-18, 2004.

In six innings, winner Paul Maholm (3-0) yielded four earned runs and eight hits.

Closer Matt Capps pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save.

Four Florida players, Wes Helms, Ronny Paulino, Cody Ross, and losing pitcher Ricky Nolasco, all drove in one run.

Hanley Ramirez had two runs and two hits for the Marlins, who entered the series on Monday with a seven-game winning streak and the National League's best record.

Nolasco (1-2) yielded six runs -- five earned -- and eight hits in six innings.
