RALEIGH, N.C., April 21 (UPI) -- Jussi Jokinen scored in the closing seconds Tuesday to give Carolina a 4-3 win over New Jersey and a 2-2 tie in the Eastern quarterfinals.

Joni Pitkanen sent a pass to Dennis Seidenberg who shot with seconds to play. Jokinen, providing a screen on Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur, redirected the puck into the net.

The series is tied at two games apiece heading into Thursday's Game 5 in New Jersey.

Just before Pitkanen's attempt, Jokinen bumped into Brodeur while skating backward toward the slot. Brodeur was about a foot outside the crease and no penalty was called.
