BOSTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Dustin Pedroia's only hit, a fifth-inning RBI single, drove in the eventual winning run Sunday in Boston's 2-1 victory over Baltimore.
The victory put Boston in position for a four-game sweep Monday.
Pedroia's hit scored Nick Green from second base, giving Boston a 2-0 lead with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.
Baltimore closed to 2-1 on Ty Wigginton's RBI groundout with one out in the top of the ninth.
Mike Lowell had one RBI and Jacoby Ellsbury had two of the six hits for the Red Sox, who rose to the .500 mark (6-6) for the first time this season.
Starter and winner Jon Lester (1-2) surrendered four hits in seven scoreless innings with two walks and nine strikeouts.
Reliever Takaski Saito earned his first save despite giving up a run in the ninth.
Wigginton had two of the Orioles' five hits.
Losing pitcher Koji Uehara (2-1) gave up two earned runs and five hits in seven innings.
