MLB: Pittsburgh 10, Atlanta 0

PITTSBURGH, April 18 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh, aided by Ian Snell's seven scoreless innings and Craig Monroe's two three-run homers, walloped Atlanta 10-0 Saturday.

Snell (1-2) gave up four hits with three walks and three strikeouts before a mop-up by relievers Sean Burnett and Jesse Chavez.

Monroe's blasts came in the sixth and seventh.

Four other Pittsburgh players had one RBI each, including Andy LaRoche and Ryan Duomit, who both had three hits.

Like Monroe, both Freddy Sanchez and Nate McLouth had two hits for the Pirates, who have blanked the Braves the last two games, and have won six of their first 11 contests.

Omar Infante had two of the four hits in Atlanta's fifth straight loss.

Losing pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes (0-1) surrendered five earned runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with three walks and four strikeouts.
