NEW YORK, April 16 (UPI) -- Grady Sizemore belted a grand slam homer Thursday, helping the Cleveland Indians beat New York 10-2 in the first game at the new Yankee Stadium.

Sizemore's blast, his third homer, was part of a nine-run outburst in the seventh when Cleveland snapped a 1-1 tie.

Victor Martinez had three hits, one a solo seventh-inning homer. Kelly Shoppach and Jhonny Peralta both had two hits and two RBI, while Trevor Crowe added two hits and one RBI for the Indians, who won consecutive games for the first time this season.

Winner Cliff Lee (1-2) gave up an earned run and seven hits in six innings with three walks and four strikeouts.

New York got one RBI apiece from Robinson Cano and Jorge Posada, with Posada hitting a two-out solo homer in the fifth, and Cano getting three of the nine hits -- one a seventh-inning RBI single.

The losing pitcher was reliever Jose Veras (0-1).

The Yankees had won an MLB record 11 straight home openers.
