MLB: Baltimore 6, Tampa Bay 0

BALTIMORE, April 11 (UPI) -- Melvin Mora smacked a grand slam homer and Jeremy Guthrie pitched six shutout innings Saturday in the Baltimore Orioles' 6-0 win over Tampa Bay.

Guthrie (2-0) checked the Rays on five hits and two strikeouts. In three innings of relief, Matt Albers, Jamie Walker and Chris Ray limited Tampa Bay to three hits and two walks.

Adam Jones and Nick Markakis each had an RBI in Baltimore's fourth win in five games this season.

Tampa Bay starter Jeff Niemann (0-1) went 5 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Evan Longoria and Dioner Navarro had two hits apiece for the Rays, who have lost two straight.

Mora's grand slam highlighted a 5-run first for Baltimore.
