MLB: Colorado 10, Philadelphia 3

DENVER, April 10 (UPI) -- Colorado banged out 14 hits Friday on the way to a 10-3 rout of Philadelphia in its home opener at Coors Field.

Todd Helton led the win with a hit and three RBI.

Ryan Spilborghs had three hits, two RBI and scored twice.

One of Garrett Atkins' two hits was a two-run third inning homer.

Clint Barmes had three runs and two hits.

Winning pitcher Jason Marquis had two hits, while Dexter Fowler added two hits and one RBI for the Rockies, who battered Philadelphia starter and World Series MVP Cole Hamels (0-1) for seven runs -- five in the third -- and 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Marquis (1-0) yielded two runs and five hits in seven innings.

Colorado has won three of its first four contests.

Philadelphia's Jayson Werth scored the three runs and added four hits and one RBI on a solo ninth-inning homer.

Pedro Feliz drove in two runs with sacrifice fly and an RBI ground out.
