MINNEAPOLIS, April 8 (UPI) -- Alexi Casilla rapped a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday, capping Minnesota's 6-5 come-from-behind win over Seattle.
Casilla's key hit made a winner of Luis Ayala (1-0) who had given up a run on two hits in his one inning of relief. Twins starter Nick Blackburn gave up four runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings.
Outfielder Michael Cuddyer finished 2-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Twins.
Seattle had built a 5-3 edge with Endy Chavez going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, Adrian Beltre driving in two runs and Franklin Gutierrez hitting an RBI single.
Brandon Morrow (0-1) then entered and retired the first two batters before things fell apart.
Carlos Gomez, who scored twice, Jason Kubel and pinch-hitter Brian Buscher all walked. Miguel Bastista then replaced Morrow but Denard Span singled to make it 5-4. Casilla then hit the first pitch he saw to center for the tying and winning runs.
