NHL: Nashville 4, Detroit 3

DETROIT, March 29 (UPI) -- Ryan Suter's power-play goal with 4:36 remaining Sunday was the game-winner for the Nashville Predators in a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

Suter took a pass from Steve Sullivan and fired a shot past Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood.

The win was the Predators' third straight and left them in the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference playoff picture.

Sullivan, Joel Ward and Jerred Smithson notched the other Nashville goals and goalie Pekka Rinne totaled 33 saves.

Mikael Samuelsson, Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen tallied for the Red Wings, who have lost three of four and trail the San Jose Sharks by two points (109-107) for the best record in the NHL.

Osgood finished with 22 saves.
