NHL: Atlanta 6, Ottawa 3

ATLANTA, March 28 (UPI) -- Slava Kozlov and Tobias Enstrom had a goal and two assists apiece Saturday when the Atlanta Thrashers skated to a 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk scored his team-leading 40th goal. Nathan Oystrick, Marty Reasoner and Colby Armstrong had one goal each for Atlanta, which has won nine of its last 12 games.

Eric Perrin added two assists and Thrashers' goaltender Johan Hedberg made 18 saves on 21 shots.

Ottawa was led by Jason Spezza's two goals and one assist. Ryan Shannon (power play) also scored, while goalies Brian Elliott and Alex Auld combined to yield six goals on 32 shots for the Senators, who had won five in a row and nine times in a 10-game span.

The loss dealt a severe blow to Ottawa's Eastern Conference playoff hopes.

Atlanta is out of the picture.
