COL BKB: Florida 84, Jacksonville 62

GAINESVILLE, Fla., March 19 (UPI) -- Nick Calathes made 8-of-10 shots from the field and scored 19 points Wednesday, leading Florida past Jacksonville 84-62 in the NIT.

Florida, twice the winner of the NCAA Tournament in this decade, stormed to a 21-point lead at the half and coasted the rest of the way to set up a second-round meeting with Miami.

That game will be played Friday in Gainesville.

Chandler Parsons had 17 points and 14 rebounds for Florida, which failed to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.

Jacksonville was led by Lehmon Colbert with 11 points.

Florida shot 56 percent from the field and made 9-of-19 3-point attempts.
