NHL: N.Y. Rangers 4, Nashville 2

NASHVILLE, March 12 (UPI) -- Henrik Lundqvist shut out Nashville over the final two periods Thursday night and the New York Rangers rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Predators.

Nashville took a 2-1 lead through the first period only to have Scott Gomez tie the game 3:01 into the second. Marc Staal produced the game-winner with 2:31 to play in the period and Fredrik Sjostrom scored shorthanded midway through the third.

It was the Rangers' eighth shorthanded goal of the season.

New York won for the fourth time in five games. Lundqvist stopped 19 shots for his fourth consecutive victory.

Nashville has lost three in a row following a six-game winning streak. Dan Ellis stopped 28 shots and the Predators' goals came from Shea Weber and J.P. Dumont.
