NHL: N.Y. Rangers 4, N.Y. Islanders 2

UNIONDALE, N.Y., March 5 (UPI) -- Chris Drury put the New York Rangers in front for good midway through the second period Thursday in a 4-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Drury and Nikolai Zherdev both had a goal and an assist, helping the Rangers win their second in a row after a four-game losing streak. Henrik Lundqvist picked up the victory by making 28 saves.

Drury broke a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal, putting a slapshot past a screened Yann Danis with 10:15 to play in the second.

A goal by Scott Gomez just 49 seconds into the third gave the Rangers a 3-1 advantage. After Jack Hillen brought the Islanders within one by producing his first goal of the season, Markus Naslund finished the scoring for the Rangers with a power-play tally.

The game finished the regular-season series between the rivals with the Rangers having won five out of six.
