Report: Samari Rolle wants to leave Ravens

OWINGS MILLS, Md., March 4 (UPI) -- Baltimore Ravens defensive back Samari Rolle wants to be traded by the NFL team, the Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday.

Rolle's discontent has mirrored similar feelings of teammates wide receiver Derrick Mason and perennial all-pro linebacker Ray Lewis.

The team lost linebacker Bart Scott through free agency. Scott joined his former boss, defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, who on Jan. 19, was named head coach of the New York Jets.

"Honestly, I don't want to play in Baltimore anymore because I feel I'm not wanted," Rolle told the Sun earlier this week.

"During the past two years, the Ravens have wanted to replace me, and the only man in the building that supported me was (Rex). I have nothing against the organization (but) I just feel it's time for me to move on. I think it's in both our best interest."

Rolle, a second-round pick by Tennessee in 1998, has played for the Ravens the last four seasons.

Late Wednesday afternoon, general manager Ozzie Newsome said Lewis, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection, had completed contract negotiations. Newsome said the deal allows Lewis to finish his career as a Raven.
