Veteran Bengals receiver going to Seattle

RENTON, Wash., March 3 (UPI) -- Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Seattle Seahawks agreed Tuesday to a multiyear contract.

Terms of the deal were not released, but the NFL Network reports Houshmandzadeh, who considered returning to Cincinnati or signing with Minnesota, signed for $40 million over five years with $15 million guaranteed.

"I don't think I got it done very quickly in free-agency standards," said Houshmandzadeh. "When I came to Seattle, I told Minnesota that I would come up there, and I wanted to keep my word. I guess that's not how free agency works."

The 31-year-old had 92 receptions for 904 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games last season with the Bengals. The former Oregon State standout set career-highs with 112 receptions for 1,143 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2007.

A veteran of eight seasons, all with Cincinnati, Houshmandzadeh has 507 receptions for 5,782 yards and 37 touchdowns for his career.
