NEW YORK, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Several teams made high profile signings or trades Friday at the start of the NFL's free agent signing period.
New England inked veteran running back Fred Taylor to an undisclosed contract and the New York Jets signed linebacker Bart Scott for five years and $40 million.
The Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers kept starting left guard Chris Kemoeatu for five years and $20 million, while Baltimore signed cornerback Domonique Foxworth for four years and $28 million, with $16.5 million guaranteed.
Additionally, there were a couple of high-profile trades.
Cleveland sent tight end Kellen Winslow to Tampa Bay in exchange for undisclosed draft picks, and the Minnesota Vikings acquired quarterback Sage Rosenfels from Houston.
