FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Falcons announced Monday they will not renew their contract with veteran safety Lawyer Milloy.

Milloy, in three seasons with the Falcons, had 342 tackles, two sacks, three interceptions and 15 passes defensed. Milloy is a four-time Pro Bowl selection who played on the New England Patriots' 2001 Super Bowl championship team.

Before coming to Atlanta, he spent three years with the Buffalo Bills (2003-2005) and was a member of the Patriots from 1996-2002.

"As an organization, we felt it was in the best interest of both parties to let Lawyer test the free agent market," said Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff. "He significantly contributed in his three seasons with the Falcons and we were proud to have him here. We wish him the best as he takes the next step in his career."
