NHL: Florida 2, Boston 0

SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Tomas Vokoun turned aside all 41 shots he faced Saturday night when the Florida Panthers skated to a 2-0 win over the slumping Boston Bruins.

Radek Dvorak provided the offense by scoring his ninth and 10th goals this season five minutes apart in the third period. Dvorak broke a scoreless tie on a shorthanded breakaway at 1:44 of the third, and then got an assist from Vokoun after a cross-ice pass.

Dvorak had a chance for a hat trick when Boston pulled goalie Tim Thomas in the final minute, but Andrew Ference went down to his knees and blocked the open net.

Thomas was beaten twice on 29 shots for the Bruins, who lost for the fifth time in their last six games.

There were no power play goals despite 10 combined man-advantage chances.
