NHL: Montreal 4, Colorado 2

DENVER, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Andrei Kostitsyn scored the go-ahead goal with 2:16 remaining in the third period Friday night, boosting the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-2 victory over Colorado.

The Canadiens ended a four-game losing streak, which matched their longest of the season. Montreal won for only the third time in 12 games.

Montreal took a 2-0 lead at the end of one period on goals by Francis Bouillon and Patrice Brisebois that came 57 seconds apart late in the stanza.

Colorado eventually tied it, making it a 2-2 game on Tyler Arnasons power-play goal with 6:57 to go in the third.

Kostitsyn, however, got a backhander past Peter Budaj and Tom Kostopoulos added a shorthanded goal into an empty net with 25 seconds remaining.

Jaroslav Halak stayed busy by turning aside 46 shots for the Canadiens, who handed Colorado its fourth straight loss. Budaj allowed three goals on 22 shots.
