COL BKB: Connecticut 63, Syracuse 49

STORRS, Conn., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- A.J. Price scored 17 points Wednesday and No. 1 Connecticut pulled away in the second half to down 22nd-ranked Syracuse 63-49.

Connecticut held Syracuse to 31.7 percent shooting from the field and produced a 12-0 run during the middle portion of the second half to take control.

The Huskies improved to 23-1 and moved to 11-1 in the Big East Conference. Louisville holds down second place in the league at 9-1.

The best Connecticut record ever for 25 games is 24-1 and the Huskies can match that Saturday with a win at Seton Hall.

Jeff Adrien added 12 points and Craig Austrie had 10 for Connecticut. Hasheem Thabeet scored eight points, grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked seven shots.

Connecticut starting guard Jerome Dyson left the game in the first half with a bruised right knee and did not return.

Syracuse (18-7, 6-6 Big East) was led by 16 points from Jonny Flynn. The Orange have lost five of their last six games.
