Watney climbs 108 places in rankings

VIRGINIA WATER, England, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Nick Watney's victory in the Buick Invitational jumped him 108 places to No. 76 in the world golf rankings released Monday.

Watney's one-shot win over John Rollins in the tournament at La Jolla, Calif., was his second on the PGA Tour.

Tiger Woods, who has not played on the tour since the U.S. Open in June, remains No. 1 on the world list. He had surgery on his left knee after winning the open.

On Monday, Woods announced the birth of his second child, a son named Charlie Axel Woods.

Sergio Garcia is No. 2 in the world rankings, followed, in order, by Padraig Harrington, Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson.

Ranked sixth through 10th are Henrik Stenson, Robert Karlsson, Geoff Ogilvy, Camilo Villegas and Kenny Perry.
