NHL: Los Angeles 3, New Jersey 1

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Jonathan Quick made 25 saves on 26 shots Saturday, leading the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-1 victory against the New Jersey Devils.

The lone goal Quick allowed was Dainius Zubrus' 12th (power play) at 3:07 of the first period.

In the scoring column were Patrick O'Sullivan with a goal and an assist and Anze Kopitar and Jarret Stoll with one goal apiece for the improved Kings, who have won six of their last seven games to get back into the chase for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Scott Clemmensen was beaten three times on 32 shots for the Devils, who had won nine of their previous 10 contests.

Despite the loss, they hold a six-point lead over Philadelphia and the New York Rangers for first place in the Atlantic Division.

The Kings went 1-for-5 on the power play while the Devils went 0-for-4.
