COL BKB: Syracuse 74, West Virginia 61

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Forty-four points from Jonny Flynn and Eric Devendorf helped No. 20 Syracuse break out of a slump Wednesday with a 74-61 decision over West Virginia.

After opening the season with 16 wins in 17 games, the Orange had lost three straight and four out of five heading into the meeting with the Mountaineers.

Flynn and Devendorf both scored 22 points with Paul Harris adding 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Syracuse advanced to 18-5 for the season and 6-4 in the Big East Conference. Marquette leads the league with a 9-0 mark.

Flynn hit 7-of-13 shots from the field and scored 11 first-half points while Syracuse was building a 37-29 lead. Devendorf piled up 14 points in the second half.

West Virginia (15-7, 4-5) was led by Da'Sean Butler with 23. The Mountaineers have lost three out of four.
