NHL: Anaheim 3, Buffalo 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Power-play goals by Chris Kunitz and Corey Perry Monday lifted the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Chris Pronger got the first Ducks goal and goalie Jonas Hiller turned back just 21 Buffalo shots to get Anaheim its third win in its last four games.

"We played hard tonight and it paid off," said Kunitz. "It feels good and we have to keep going and pushing hard for the playoff run."

The Sabres' offense came from Patrick Kaleta and Craig Rivet. Buffalo Patrick Lalime gave up the three goals on 34 shots.

The Sabres, who finished a six-game road trip with a 3-3 mark, scored first on Kaleta's third goal of the season with 6:43 left in the first period.

But a Pronger slapshot tied it up in the second period and the man-advantage goals by Kunitz and Perry put the game out of reach.

Rivet buried a rebound with 6:33 left in the game but the Sabres could get the tying goal.
